'Outraged' against abortion #AcampadaVida, challenge the Spanish’s society
Five days ago a group of prolife Spanish young people started civic rebellion for life in Madrid, and continue their protests in the Puerta del Sol.
HAZTEOIR.ORG PRESS NOTE.- It all started one year ago, when Spanish Parliament approved the implementation of the extension of the abortion law, known here as “Aído Act”, name of the minister who led then legislative reform.
On July 5th, 2010 women in Spain could abort with the support of the State administration of health with fewer requirements and further assurances than ever before. The law extended "deadlines", meaning mothers were allowed to abort 'by law' within more weeks of gestation with the baby in the womb.
A year later, when Spain testifies to a Government 'paralyzed' by the inefficiency and negligence to overcome the economic crisis, we have witnessed how a group of people 'outraged' took the streets to publicize their protests. In many cases with legitimate and full of reason and support reasons. But at the same time, 'taking the street' with the laissez-faire attitude of the Government and shaping camping, do not close to forests, but in more centrally located places in the main cities of Spain.
Little by little, normalcy has returned and these persons 'outraged' (with everything, with the Government of Zapatero) have come back to their homes and continue with their democratic demands.
Started #AcampadaVida (CampLife)
On July 3rd 2011, a group led by Jaime Hernandez and wholly supported by prolife national organizations as HazteOir.org and Derecho a Vivir (Right to Live), decided to 'get angry' and set up an information point against the abortion law in Spain, downtown the capital, in Madrid.
For Today’s Spanish society, just a few speak louder for the most important matter: human dignity and the right to life, the right of the unborn. Little by little the media van payed attention to the young prolife in the Puerta del Sol, who organized discussions, informed people, asked for signatures to send to the Congress of Deputies and freely expressed in public that "we are for life and against abortion".
Surprise and contradiction
Amazing scenes could be seen the first night. Spanish National Police tried to keep off the acts on last Sunday 3rd of July, against several dozens of young prolife, which declare themselves ‘outraged’ with the attacks on life, camping in the Madrid Sun Gate (Puerta del Sol) in protest at the laws on abortion and dignified death promoted by the PSOE.
After several attempts to stop them and trying to dismount the store they had installed, young people achieved its purpose. These young people had participated in the rally against abortion and against the law of dignified death which took place in the plaza of Neptune, a few metres from the Spanish Parliament.
Up to this moment, they have collected over 10.000 signatures to ban abortion's law in Spain.
Jaime Hernández, young leader of #AcampadaVida denounced to HO News, how the security forces have tried to prevent young people express their rejection, about the way PSOE Government has not heared the prolife voices in the country: "We reject the law of abortion on demand, which marks today the first year of its promulgation, and Bill's dignified death, which introduces euthanasia practices."
But it seems that the street is PSOE’s friends, not the citizens’. "We are back to the times of the dictatorship; the street is the Minister of Interior, Rubalcaba. Several hundred people tried to get to Sol Plaza from different streets to support this group of young people, citizens which wore some provida symbols, as red garments, caps with the logo's right to live or t-shirts with slogans in rejection of abortion,. The police established controls on entrances to the Puerta del Sol. However, the security cordon could be mocked and about two hundred people could concentrate in the central square to protest the policies against life of the PSOE Government.
You can see the different videos showing how the young group has camped in the center of Spain claiming for dignity for life.
#AcampadaVida will end next Sunday 10 of July, after great feasts for the family and life which will celebrate the beauty of life.
